Avoiding Injuries
How to Avoid Injuries

An unfortunate fact of life is we all get injured, and the more active you are the more likely you are to get injured, right? Not exactly.
You see, many injuries come from not being active enough and then trying something strenuous. You see it a lot with "weekend warriors" or couch potatoes. When a person does something strenuous to the body and the body isn't used to it, the body can get injured. So the obvious answer is to avoid strenuous activity? Despite what some people believe, absolutely not. The answer is to get into shape and let your body adapt to strenuous activity. Give it the stimulus to get stronger and these activities are no longer strenuous.
Think of it like metal being forged. If you don't put any work in to harden steel, it will bend under stress or the edge will dull quickly. If you take the time and put in the work to harden the steel, it will be able to handle more. Your body is a bit like metal in that regard.
Now how do you deal with injuries when they occur? That's for another post.
